Fire Sprinkler Systems - Installation and Testing

Fire Sprinkler Systems

Phoenix Fire Services are experienced in the design and installation of fire sprinkler systems for commercial and domestic use throughout the UK. As part of the service, we also carry out important fire sprinkler maintenance every six months. This should be backed up by weekly testing which is normally carried out by the customer.

Domestic Fire Sprinkler Systems. As more residential fire sprinkler systems are being installed in homes around the UK, Phoenix Fire Services have realised the need for installation and design. We provide comprehensive skills in the principle elements of residential fire sprinkler systems, through design, requirements and installation

What is an alternate system?

An alternate system is usually installed where some part of the installation is exposed to the outside, e.g. car parks, loading bays etc. To ensure pipes do not burst due to freezing air replaces the water in the Autumn. When a sprinkler operates the air is released and a valve flips over, releasing water into the system. Engineers have to take the valve set apart to set an alternate system, this entails 2 to 3 times the amount of work for a non-alternate system.

Identification of Sprinkler Systems

Sprinkler Systems - at the "industrial" end of a building (car park, loading bay etc) water driven bells usually with "Sprinkler Stop Valve Inside". Alternate System - A compressor nearby is attached to the pipework which is exposed to cold temperatures outside.
